Call Transfer

Call Transferring is used to send a caller to another location in the system. That location can be another extension, an external phone such as a cell phone, a voicemail box, or a conference room.  We have two types of transfers: blind and attended.

How to use it:

Attended Transfer

When you’re on the phone with an outside caller, simply push the Transfer soft button near the screen.  Next, tell the phone where you want to transfer the call by entering the extension number, then push the Transfer button again.  (You can also select a number from the DIR or Directory)  The system will connect you to the extension you have entered, so that you can tell the person that you have a call for them.  “Hey Jim, I have a customer that had some questions for you, can I transfer her over?”  Once you confirm with Jim, hit the transfer button again and the call will be sent over to him.  You can also transfer calls to a conference by pushing the Transfer button, and then pushing the Conf. button.

Blind Transfer

When you’re on the phone with an outside caller, simply push the Transfer button. Next, tell the phone where you want to transfer the call by entering the extension number, then push the B.Transfer button. The system will transfer the call to the destination entered without prompting the other party first.  If your phone has a hard “TRANSFER” button on the bottom right (not near the screen) it will perform this Blind Transfer method by default.
